Check the official meeting pattern
Confirm every selected section’s days, times, format, and location in the Schedule of Classes. Do this again before you register, because course offerings and sections can change.
Leave room for campus logistics
A timetable without overlapping meeting times can still be difficult if classes are far apart. Consider the campus, building, expected walking or bus time, and the buffer you need to arrive ready for class.
Scarlet Sync can surface campus and schedule context while you compare options; it does not guarantee that a specific transit trip will be on time.
Treat summer and special-session dates separately
Summer courses can use section-specific start and end dates. Rutgers advises students to check those dates because overlapping sections may not be recognized as a conflict by WebReg.
Save backups early
Keep one or two alternate sections or courses that still satisfy your constraints. If a preferred section fills, you can make a considered change rather than rebuilding your entire term under pressure.
